Local Marketing!

For most businesses, Local Marketing really needs to be the first priority. A great man once said you must conquer the area around you before you can conquer the world.

That said, does that mean that the internet isn’t for your business?  No.  Studies show that 80% of purchases are made only after a level of research has been accomplished.

Some experts even believe that in the not so distant future, Google will automatically default to local search results based on the location of your Internet Service Provider.

What does this mean?  If you were to search for the keyword “cars”, Google would send you results based on websites that were geared towards “cars” and your location.  So websites geared towards “Dallas Cars” would take precedence over websites that were geared towards cars in general.

In the mean time, there are plenty of benefits that a local business can reap from local searches.  It is a proven fact, that local searches become leads more often than General Searches.  A search for Honda Element, is a person looking for more information about the car.  A Search for Dallas Honda Element is someone looking to buy one!

But Local Marketing is more than just ranking in Search Engines.  It’s about showing your expertise and teaching them what they need to know before they make a potentially life changing decision.  

You can say that in many ways the new Local Marketing Model mirrors the model of our grandfathers.  Build up your credibility and respect in the community and the customers will come.  The internet just allows you to do it more rapidly.
